cornwall.uk launched last year with the aim of becoming THE online portal for the Duchy.

It provides insightful and interesting content about Cornish Business, Community, Culture & Creativity, Education, Environment, Food & Drink, and where to Stay and Enjoy, in addition to signposting the various excellent sector resources already available.

Since launch our website traffic has doubled every month. We’re actively building our Cornish Ambassador network, and we’d warmly remind you to join over 1000 individuals across the County, the Country and indeed the Globe who have agreed to sign up and champion Cornwall for ‘one and all’.

As we look forward to an exciting 2023, we’re delighted to share with you some of our ideas and plans for the future.

We are aiming to grow our Cornish Ambassador network to over 5,000 in the coming months (with a longer ambition of achieving 20,000!)

We’ll continue to deliver a diverse range of quality stories and signposts through the website, social media and newsletters to champion the interests of Cornwall to the widest possible audience.

We are starting to build a strong International following, and intend to become a hub for the global Cornish Community to connect, engage and contribute further content. We will be attending events to champion cornwall.uk and the Cornish Ambassador network.

We continue to look at partnership opportunities to open a hospitality venue in London called “The Cornish Embassy” and continue to actively explore options to create this valuable asset for our stakeholders and Ambassadors.

If you have any ideas, suggestions or are able to help with any of these ambitions, please just let us know. If you think our work should continue, please keep reading!

cornwall.uk is maintained by The Cornwall Place Board, a partnership between the private and public sector established as a Community Interest Company (CIC). We focus on improving the economic outcomes for the Duchy, and bring benefits to the business community of Cornwall.

To date it has been funded by a combination of private business donations and Council grant funding as part of the G7 legacy. This initial seed funding has come to an end, and whilst the Directors are entirely voluntary and unpaid, constant updates and maintenance of the site, our social media activity, creation of the Ambassador newsletters and membership growth all carry a cost.

How you can help:

We are now looking to our Ambassador network and Cornish organisations (both private and public sector) to help shape our future plans, direction, and actively support our activities and ambitions. We have exciting plans to build additional member-to-member services, invest in PR and member engagement in response to your feedback in our recent survey, but these can only be considered with the right funding.

cornwall.uk is independent of any lobbying, political affiliation or commercial bias, and whilst we wish to share positive and relevant stories about the Duchy and its businesses, we are not planning to provide any commercial endorsement or promotion as part of our offer. A list of valued sponsors on our site feels like an appropriate way to say “thank you”.
Regular financial support from Ambassadors and Cornish businesses is essential to fund our current and future activities and enable us to continue to champion the interests of the Duchy and the communities within it. Any contribution however small is greatly appreciated and entirely voluntary.

Please continue to encourage friends and colleagues to visit cornwall.uk and sign up as Ambassadors. If you can also provide us with stories and ideas and generally “spread the word”, you are all making a great contribution to the future of this growing asset.

We really appreciate your continued support, energy and inspiration.

Warm regards,

James, Martin, Dickie and Robert
