Cornish company collaborates with RNLI

Cornish clothing company Finisterre have recently launced a new collaboration with the RNLI, with 10% of sales going back to the charity to help fund and support all the staff & volunteer crew members who protect our waterways and oceans.

As part of the collaboration, Finisterre will share the land-to-sea stories of 4 crew members, telling the stories of seemingly ordinary people doing extraordinary things, Finisterre invite you to discover the camaraderie, inclusivity, and togetherness inside the RNLI. Crew members Mali, Emily, Josh and Peter each come from different backgrounds and day jobs, but all are on-call to save lives in different corners of the UK. The episode of the brand’s popular ‘Hell or High Water’ podcast unearthing stories from these crew members who share Finisterre’s love and respect for the sea can be found here: https://finisterre.com/blogs/podcast

The RNLI protect hundreds of communities around the UK and Ireland through their 24-hour search and rescue service. Few people better understand the integral role that the RNLI plays than Finisterre founder Tom. His work and learnings as a helm at the brand’s local lifeboat station in St. Agnes has shaped the business since it’s early days and has only continued to inspire a deeper love for the sea amongst its employees.

Regarding the collaboration, Tom says:

“With a shared love and passion for the sea, we are really excited to launch the RNLI + Finisterre collaboration. The limited-edition range brings together Finisterre’s innovative and sustainable fabric knowledge with the unique volunteer ethos of the RNLI, which is as strong today as it was 200 years ago. Personally, the collaboration means a lot, having been a volunteer on the St Agnes lifeboat crew now for nearly 20 years.”

Designed with sustainably sourced fabrics to provide long lasting protection, the collaboration notably uses colours inspired by the RNLI’s iconic all-weather lifeboats. Big and bright, the sight of a navy and orange lifeboat on the horizon has given hope to many and features across the range. Lifeboat motifs are also elegantly stitched onto organic everyday basics including tees, jumpers, and hoodies.

Available for both men and women, the Finisterre + RNLI collection also includes maritime inspired knitwear, heralding back to the traditional uniform of the first rescuers to put themselves on the front line.
