If there’s one thing we can all agree on in a post-pandemic world, it is that we need to re-frame our sense of community, culture and business for new-found prosperity in a fast-changing world.
Living in a world of uncertainty means business, political and community leaders have found once-guaranteed outcomes are now more complex, and need to be given a greater degree of thought with regards to safeguarding the futures of some of the world’s most fragile industries and environments.
In Cornwall, a brand new Cultivator Project is being embarked on by the University of Plymouth to help bring the creative community in the area back to life. It is aimed at delivering the Creative and Cultural Leadership Development Programme for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This aims to give ambitious creative practitioners the chance to collaborate to meet the growing needs of the region and become the leaders they aspire to be. Indeed, creativity has become a much-needed means of survival and the World Economic Forum now ranks creativity as the third most important skill for leaders – up from tenth in 2015.
Creative Kernow are an organisation leading creative change in the region, and are a support organisation and charity with a mission to engerise and enrich creative communities. They have developed the Cultivator project with the University of Plymouth and Real Ideas – businesses will be offered one-to-one consultations with specialist advisors and can access the project’s broad range of business and skills development opportunities. It can also provide connections to the academic and technical experts and cutting-edge resources and facilities at the University of Plymouth.
From skills development grants and graduate start-up programmes, to internship incentives and one-to-one business advice, Cultivator has a full programme of support and more information about getting involved can be accessed here: https://cultivatorcornwall.org.uk/what-we-do/
