A new website that will help inspire the next generation through the G7 event in June and beyond has been launched by Cornwall Council.
The site at www.y7cornwall.co.uk has a host of information for young people, highlighting how they can get involved with the events that run in tandem with the G7 summit of world leaders, as well as events taking place in Cornwall’s schools.
The website will also be the focal point for a new conference, set to take place annually, where councillors in Cornwall will meet young people and hear their voices and concerns.
A team of teenaged web editors helped to develop the site and they will keep its pages and school blogs updated.
Senior Education Officer Rachel Delourne said:
“We have a once in a lifetime opportunity with the G7 coming to Cornwall and we want to put the voices of children front and centre.
“Y7Cornwall has been designed to be a focal point for all young people and Cornish teachers. We have fantastic learning resources, powerful videos and lots of ways that young people can get involved.”
